An illustrated tavern table with Six Thieves cards and dice ready for play

A tavern-born game of cards, dice, and nerve

Survive the sixes.

Six Thieves is a table-first card-and-dice game where every player plays face-up hands, the room watches each roll, and every six pushes the shared tracker closer to a table-wide theft.

How to play Six Thieves

The current game is built around 6 Thieves: every seat plays a hand, rolls for first, earns its own action rolls, scores as cards are covered or stolen, and resolves theft from the players beside you.

01

Deal the new deck

Shuffle the 6 Thieves deck and deal four face-up cards to every seat. Thieves, Kings, and Beggars each run from 1 to 5.

02

Roll for first

Each seat turns a die to their call from 1-6. The center die rolls, ties re-call, and the closest seat begins.

03

Roll your action die

After first player is set, each seat rolls their own custom die: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3. That result is their rolls this hand.

04

Cover for points

Cover a card with matching dice for immediate points. You can keep stacking matching dice, and stolen cards can be covered too.

05

Every six marks the table

A rolled 6 leaves the tray and adds an X to the shared 6 Thieves tracker. Everyone can see how close the table is to danger.

06

Eight Xs wake the thieves

Once the tracker is full, every new 6 steals the highest scoring covered card anywhere on the table. Uncovered cards are safe from theft.

The 6 Thieves card is your danger tracker. In the core mode, every rolled 6 adds an X to one shared tracker. After eight Xs, each new 6 steals the highest scoring covered card on the table, regardless of who rolled it.
